The first Katushka-transgenic litter is born. The transgene contains the CMV early enhancer/chicken β-actin promoter (CAG), a transcription STOP cassette (STOP) flanked by loxP sites, the Katushka cDNA and the rabbit β-globin polyadenylation signal. The strategy is to have red-fluorescent protein expression only in tissues expressing Cre-recombinase. Check out the full paper at Genesis, the journal of genetics and development.
